Overview:
The CONXX Carrier Communication Platform™ (CCP) forms
the core of cost-effective, carrier-grade networks. Typically,
those two qualifiers are in conflict – “carrier-grade”
usually means “very expensive” and “cost effective”
usually means “not quite carriergrade”.
What makes the CONXX CCP unique is that it combines
carrier-grade core technology with the cost-effectiveness
of Ethernet technology at the network edges to offer
the same scalability, reliability, and features of very
large carrier networks, but providing such services
very cost effectively.
Layered separation of network elements –
Backhaul Layer (fiber / copper / wireless), Grooming Layer
(Insures Quality Of Service - QOS), Delivery Layer (any
system compatible with Ethernet / legacy data services
/ wireless systems such as WiMAX).
End-to-End Quality of Service – Grooming
Layer maintains QOS end-to-end, from the Backhaul Layer
through the Delivery Layer.
Support For Legacy Data Services – When
Ethernet based links are used as transport for legacy
data services, QOS is maintained to insure that such services
are indistinguishable from wireline legacy data services.
Provisions for WiMAX – Special provisions
are made in the Delivery Layer that insure that end-to-end
QOS is maintained if cost-effective wireless systems such
as WiMAX are used.
Separation of data flows - There is absolute
separation of data flows within the network, thus the
network can serve multiple customers segments including
public safety, government, banking, and health care to
whom network security is paramount.
IP Voice – QOS is maintained end-to-end,
including packet loss and jitter so IP Voice works extremely
well.
Network Management System – The CONXX DPM
Network Management System [1]
efficiently monitors and manages overall network operation
and security and performs trends analysis on all elements
[2] of the network.
Open Access / Network Neutrality / Neutral Carrier
Host – (Optional) Multiple service providers
can provide a variety of Internet services and various
service levels.
The AllCoNet2 Network
The CONXX Carrier Communication Platform™
is the core technology commercialized from
AllCoNet2, an innovative, well proven, carrier-grade
network that has broken the Digital Divide
in Allegany County, Maryland by making available
advanced telecommunications services, including
Broadband Internet Access, to more than
90% of the county’s citizens and over
95% of the county’s businesses, schools
and government agencies.
CONXX CCP – for existing or new networks
The CONXX Carrier Communication Platform™ makes it
possible to upgrade existing networks for carrier-grade
Quality Of Service. It also answers the need for new carrier-grade,
cost-effective networks from wireline carriers, wireless
carriers, CLECs, ISPs, enterprises, Public Safety, and public
agencies.
CONXX CCP
Customers have the option of purchasing only the CONXX
Carrier Communication Platform™ or CONXX provides extensive
integration and support services and turnkey network deployment.
The CONXX DPM network management system
does not require the use of any other network management
software.
Network elements can be monitored via
SNMP. Last mile devices are monitored more intensively
(CONXX Certification) to insure QoS and network security.
Optionally supplied by CONXX –
may already be present in existing networks.
Server hardware, OS and database software
necessary to operate CONXX DPM is not provided by CONXX.
Required only for systems not already
CONXX-certified.
